The Two Seeds
Once upon a time, there were two seeds - one was a sunflower seed, and the other was a cactus seed. Both seeds were planted in the same garden, but they had very different attitudes towards life.
The sunflower seed was filled with optimism and hope. It believed that it would grow into a beautiful sunflower, and it worked hard every day to make that dream a reality. It soaked up the sun and the rain, and it reached towards the sky with all its might.
The cactus seed, on the other hand, was filled with negativity and doubt. It believed that it would never grow into anything more than a small, prickly cactus. It resented the sun and the rain, and it stayed low to the ground, never reaching towards the sky.
As time went on, the sunflower seed grew taller and stronger. Its bright yellow petals shone in the sun, and it brought joy to all who saw it. The cactus seed, however, remained small and unimpressive.
One day, a group of animals came to the garden. They were looking for a place to rest and relax, and they were drawn to the sunflower's beauty. They basked in its warmth, and they marveled at its strength.
The cactus, however, was ignored. Its prickly exterior turned the animals away, and they didn't want anything to do with it.
Feeling dejected, the cactus seed spoke to the sunflower. "Why did the animals choose you and not me?" it asked. "We both started as seeds, but you grew into something beautiful, and I didn't."
The sunflower smiled. "It's all about attitude," it said. "You believed that you were only capable of being a small, prickly cactus. But I believed that I could grow into a beautiful sunflower. And that's exactly what happened."
The cactus realized that the sunflower was right. It had been its own attitude that had held it back. From that day forward, the cactus worked hard to change its attitude. It soaked up the sun and the rain, and it reached towards the sky with all its might.
Years went by, and the sunflower and the cactus became good friends. They both knew that it was their attitudes that had determined their destinies. And they both knew that with the right attitude, anything was possible.
